Although today Donna finds the landscape of her home to be the deepest inspiration for her work, her original influence came from her father. He was an accomplished silversmith and lapidarist from whom she watched and learned over the years as he produced beautiful cabochons, inlay silverwork, and faceted semi-precious stones. Donna shares her life with several well-loved animals, each of whom has a distinct personality!

Her horses in particular sometimes stir her creative designs. A childhood dream of owning a mustang came true a year after she moved to Torrey, when the once-abused, strong-minded Clyde came into her life, a refugee from the American rangelands. The sweet yet devious Bonnie came along two years later, also originally from our public lands. These two American Mustangs are her little outlaws, and their feral upbringing still informs their daily activities, as seen in the sudden toss of a head or a warning snort of alarm. Also added this past year are The Chicken's. Harry and his Girls.....
